The office staff is incredibly incapable and rude! Making the appointment was a hassle. I waited 45 minutes. Went for skin cancer check. Dr Losken recommended taking out two moles and I agreed that these were moles I had been keeping an eye on myself. Without discussing with me how she tends to do this, she just goes for it. (I should say here that I have had moles removed before and it was always done in the method of cutting it out in an eye shape and closing it up with stitches) So not knowing that there was another way I was shocked when I looked at my hand and saw that she just took this scoop/razor and just scooped it out of my hand and left a huge (in comparison to the small mole that was there) hole! Even more scary is that she did the one on my face first! Which I couldn't see when she was doing it and as I was asking how she did that so fast (thinking she closed it up again with stiches) she's already scooping my hand. Then she explains that this is how she does it. (“good to know now that you're done!”) and she said it would heal well. I was not given any more time to ask questions, and was told that the nurse would come in with instructions on how to care for the open wounds…which she did but she too was rushed, rude and not helpful at all. So I went home and followed the instructions of care. (this was on a Thursday) The wound on my hand felt very painful, meanwhile the one on my cheek didn't look good, but it seemed to be healing better than the hand. I went through the weekend thinking that this was just because the further from the heart the longer it takes to heal. By Monday my hand was in so much pain that I called the office asking to be seen because I was pretty sure it was infected (even though I had been putting the antibiotic ointment on and doing all the other things I had on my lovely little sheet) The lady on the phone gave me attitude and said that there was nothing available and that Dr. Losken wasn't in the office on that day. I told her that I don't care who sees me but that I NEEDED to be seen by someone that day. She reluctantly put me in with the emergency nurse later that day. The nurse was so shocked at the state of my hand that she called the doctor that was there that day (Dr. Cox who was very friendly and kind and who was actually fully booked but thankfully gave me some of his time) and he too was shocked at the Staph infection I had and put me on strong antibiotics and a new stronger antibiotic ointment. Seven days later the wound was not getting much better, I had pain all the way up my arm and it was painful to move it. I ended up going to my general doctor for further help and two more rounds of antibiotics (this was a really bad, resistant STAPH infection). I was told by her and another second opinion doctor that the "scoop" on my hand was way too deep, that Dr. Losken actually got very close to my tendon and nerves. And that I was Lucky that no further damage was done! To this day the scar is ugly, very visible and I have weird sensations from that spot. I know infections can happen even to the best doctor. What I was SHOCKED by was the lack of care by the entire office, I NEVER got a call back to see how I was doing, and Dr. Losken is just terrible at patient care. I also called the office months later to get the results from the moles (they were clean) in writing for my records since I will NEVER RETURN to this office and even this they were incapable of doing. I went to pick them up and they didn't even have them ready even thought I had called a few days beforehand and they said they'd be ready later that day and waiting for me. So I had to wait 1 hour 45 min for a one page print out from my chart. And even when I was in the office that day, no one asked to follow up how I was or if things improved! Do yourself a favor and don't go here, absolutely terrible!
